Young Ghanaian Businesswoman Feeds Kumasi Central Prison Inmates; Says “Don’t Wait To Be Big Before You Give Back“

A young Ghanaian businesswoman and philanthropist, Her Excellency Bagbin, has revealed why she has taken it upon herself to cook and provide food for inmates at the Kumasi Central Prison.

Speaking on what motivates her humanitarian gesture, the entrepreneur said her decision is rooted in compassion, social responsibility, and the belief that giving should not be postponed until one becomes extremely successful.

According to Her Excellency Bagbin, many young entrepreneurs wait until their businesses become massive conglomerates before thinking of giving back to society, a mindset she says must change.

“Do not wait until your business is a massive conglomerate to give back. Start where you are, with what you have. Integrating social impact into your business model early on builds a brand with a soul,” she said.

She noted that feeding prisoners at the Kumasi Central Prison is not just an act of charity but an investment in community safety and rehabilitation.

“Compassion shouldn’t stop at the prison gates. Supporting the rehabilitation of prisoners actually builds safer communities for all of us when they eventually reintegrate into society,” she stated.

Her Excellency Bagbin, who combines business with philanthropy, believes that young people have a unique advantage to drive social change.

“Age is an asset, not a barrier. We have the energy, the creativity, and the passion to disrupt traditional charity models and make a real, hands-on difference,” she added.

She therefore called on fellow young business owners, professionals and well-meaning Ghanaians to support prison reformation efforts at the Kumasi Central Prison and beyond, whether through food, skills training, counseling or other forms of support.

Her Excellency Bagbin stressed that her outreach to the Kumasi Central Prison will continue as part of her commitment to blending entrepreneurship with humanitarian service, urging others to do same in their own small way to impact lives.
