“We Appreciate His Good Heart” – Akumadan Nananom Offer Special Prayers for MP Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah.

 

Akumadan, Ashanti Region- The Traditional Council and Elders, Nananom, in Akumadan have offered special prayers for the Member of Parliament for Offinso North Constituency, Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, expressing profound appreciation for his good heart and unwavering commitment to transforming the constituency.

The solemn but colorful prayer session, which brought together chiefs, queen mothers, opinion leaders and a large gathering of residents, was held in Akumadan, the capital of Offinso North.

According to Nananom, Hon. Dr. Kyei Asamoah has distinguished himself as a humble, accessible and development-oriented leader whose tenure is already bringing visible change to the area.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Council, the elders commended the MP for his people-centered approach to leadership, describing him as a son of the land who has not forgotten his roots.

“We have observed his works with keen interest. He has a good heart for his people. What he is doing for Offinso North shows that he is committed to lifting this constituency to a higher level.

We have prayed for him, for long life, good health, wisdom and strength to continue the good works,” one of the elders stated.

Nananom specifically praised the MP for his interventions in education, sports development, sanitation and youth empowerment.

Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, a pharmacist by profession and former Director-General of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), who assumed office as MP in January 2025 on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has in recent months rolled out several initiatives.

These include the Anidaso Students Assistantship Program (ASAP), which provides a minimum of GH¢2,000 annually to tertiary students from the constituency, the construction of a FIFA-standard Astro Turf with floodlights and VAR at Akumadan to nurture sports talent, and the recent sod-cutting for three ultra-modern 12-seater toilet facilities at Afrancho, Akumadan and Nkwaakwaa to address sanitation challenges.

The MP, who hails from Akumadan, has also been vocal in Parliament on issues affecting farmers, youth unemployment and national cohesion.

In his response, Hon. Dr. Kyei Asamoah expressed gratitude to Nananom for their prayers, blessings and continuous counsel. He reiterated his commitment to serve with humility and to work closely with traditional authorities to accelerate development.

“I am deeply humbled by the prayers and blessings of Nananom. This is my home, and I have no excuse not to develop it. I will continue to work with Nananom, assembly members, and all stakeholders to ensure Offinso North becomes a model constituency in terms of education, health, sports and job creation,” he assured.

Residents present at the ceremony also lauded the MP’s open-door policy and pledged their support for his transformation agenda for Offinso North.

The event ended with libation and intercessory prayers for the peace, unity and prosperity of Offinso North and Ghana at large.
