14-YEAR-OLD PREGNANT GIRL ALLEGEDLY SETS HERSELF ON FIRE AT KWAHU NSABAH

A 14-year-old pregnant girl is receiving medical attention after allegedly setting herself on fire at Kwahu Nsabah in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Kwahu Nsabah School Park.

The girl, identified as Maame K, is said to have attempted suicide by pouring petrol on her body and setting herself ablaze.

According to information attributed to her elder brother, Kwaku Agatha, the incident allegedly followed a dispute with the father of her unborn child, who reportedly denied being the biological father of the pregnancy.

Eyewitnesses reportedly said the young girl called for help after setting herself on fire, leading to her being rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw for treatment.

She was subsequently referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for further medical care.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
