PASTOR URGES POLITICIANS TO THINK BEYOND THE NEXT ELECTION AND FOCUS ON THE NEXT GENERATION

The Branch Pastor of Journey of Hope Ministry, Anyaa Palas Town, Ga Central Municipality, Greater Accra Region, Apostle Edward Amoh Inkoom, has urged Ghanaian politicians and political leaders to look beyond the next election and focus on building a stronger future for the next generation.

He stressed that true political leadership should not be measured only by electoral victories, but also by the positive legacy leaders leave behind.

According to him, politicians must develop long-term national policies that address critical areas such as education, healthcare, employment, infrastructure, economic development, discipline and national unity.

Apostle Inkoom cautioned leaders against making decisions primarily to gain immediate political popularity or votes. He said some important decisions may not produce immediate political benefits, but they can create lasting opportunities for Ghana’s children and future generations.

He therefore called on politicians across all political parties to see themselves as custodians of the nation’s future, rather than focusing solely on acquiring and retaining political power.

He also encouraged citizens, especially the youth, to demand accountability from political leaders and take an active role in the development of the country.

Our politicians must have it in mind that they are not only governing for today. They must create national policies for the next generation and stop doing only what people will praise them for today.

Apostle Inkoom believes Ghana needs leaders with the courage and vision to make difficult decisions today for the benefit of tomorrow.

Elections come and go, but the next generation will live with the consequences of the decisions we make today.

He concluded by urging political leaders to pursue a legacy of development, integrity, unity, opportunity and national progress, rather than a legacy based only on political victories.
