Bosomtwe DCE Descends on Akokofe Assembly Member Over False Allegations; Vows No Forgiveness, Threatens Legal Action

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosomtwe District Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Abdulai Hamid, has strongly condemned the Assembly Member for Akokofe Electoral Area for what he describes as deliberate falsehood and malicious allegations leveled against his office and person.

The DCE, who was visibly angry, said the Assembly Member has been peddling unfounded claims against him in the community and on the general public, with the intention to tarnish his hard-earned reputation and create disaffection for the Assembly.

Speaking in an interview at Kuntanase, Hon. Abdulai Hamid said he will not forgive the Assembly Member this time around, but will ensure he faces the full rigours of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.

“I have tolerated enough of his lies and propaganda. As a leader, I believe in teamwork and open-door policy, but this Assembly Member for Akokofe has taken it upon himself to spread complete falsehood about me. I will not forgive him. I will put him before the law to prove his allegations,” the DCE stated.

According to Hon. Hamid, the allegations are not only false but also calculated to undermine the development agenda of the Bosomtwe District Assembly under the current administration.

He explained that as DCE, he has been transparent and accountable in the management of the District’s resources and has engaged all Assembly Members in decision making.

“The Assembly Member should be ready to provide evidence to support his false claims in court. If you make an allegation, you must be prepared to prove it. This time, forgiveness is out of the question,” he added.

Hon. Hamid therefore cautioned all Assembly Members and the general public to desist from making unsubstantiated statements against public office holders, stressing that the law will deal with anyone who deliberately defames others.

He further called on the people of Akokofe and Bosomtwe at large to disregard the false allegations and remain united for the development of the district.

Efforts to reach the Assembly Member for Akokofe Electoral Area for his side of the story proved unsuccessful as at press time.
