Aduana Family Appeals To Otumfuo To Resolve Adumasa Chieftaincy Dispute
The Aduana family of Bomfa Adumasa in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region has made a passionate appeal to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to intervene in the long-standing chieftaincy dispute between the Aduana and Oyoko clans to restore peace and accelerate development.
At a press conference addressed by the Abusuapanin of the Aduana family, Nana Appiah Kubi, and his elders, the family lamented that the unresolved dispute has crippled development and undermined effective traditional leadership in Adumasa.
According to Nana Appiah Kubi, the absence of a substantive chief due to the dispute has affected the effective functioning of key social amenities and development facilities including schools, health facilities, markets and durbar grounds.
He noted that the prolonged disagreement has become a major source of worry for the entire community, hence the need for the Asantehene, as the occupant of the Golden Stool and custodian of Asante customs and traditions, to intervene.
He expressed confidence that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s intervention would bring the feuding factions together for an amicable settlement and pave the way for peace and unity.
The Abusuapanin further appealed to all residents and citizens of Adumasa, both home and abroad, to remain calm and exercise maximum restraint as efforts are made to resolve the impasse.
He cautioned against the use of abusive language and any unlawful acts that could heighten tension and disturb the peace of the community.
The elders expressed optimism that a swift intervention by the Asantehene would lead to a lasting resolution of the chieftaincy dispute and enable the community to refocus on its development agenda.
They emphasized the need for unity, cooperation and peaceful coexistence to ensure effective traditional leadership and holistic development of Adumasa.
