BOSOMTWE GOVERNMENT APPOINTEES DISSOCIATE THEMSELVES FROM VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE AGAINST DCE.

Government Appointees describe allegations against Hon. Eng. Hamidu Abdallah as unfounded.

The leadership of Government Appointees in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region has dissociated itself from a vote of no confidence passed against the District Chief Executive, Hon. Eng. Hamidu Abdallah, by a section of Assembly Members.

At a press briefing held at Kokoado, the leader of the Government Appointees, Mr. Agumba Patrick Justice, said the group has no part in the accusations being peddled against the DCE and described the claims as untrue.

The reaction comes after some aggrieved Assembly Members, including the Assembly Member for the Akokofe Electoral Area, accused the DCE and his management of poor leadership, misplaced priorities and blocking development in the district’s 67 communities.

The Assembly Members had alleged that the renovation of the Assembly’s conference centre at Kokoado was captured in the Assembly’s budget but eight months on, the facility remains unrenovated.

According to them, this has forced the Assembly to hold its General Assembly meetings in church auditoriums and university lecture halls, making it difficult to discuss sensitive district issues.

They further alleged inappropriate use of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) machines.

They claimed the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe is ready to provide fuel for the machines to work for two days in each electoral area, but the DCE has been reluctant to release the equipment.

They also alleged that the machines are only released when individuals or communities pay cash, while inner roads in most communities remain in deplorable condition.

But responding to the allegations, Mr. Agumba Patrick Justice debunked the claims, insisting there is no truth in them.

According to him, the Government Appointees are not part of the group calling for the vote of no confidence and have formally dissociated themselves from the move.

He described the allegations as unfounded and urged the public to disregard them, stressing that the DCE remains committed to the development of the Bosomtwe District.

He called for unity among Assembly Members and stakeholders to accelerate development in the district.
