Offinso North Native Calls on Hon. Ceaser Ofosu Acheampong to Call Footsoldiers to Order Over Closure of Public Facilities.
Concerned resident decries unlawful lockup of Nkenkaasu Market stalls and Afrancho Health Insurance Office
OFFINSO NORTH – A concerned native of the Offinso North District has issued a strong-worded open letter to the District Chief Executive for the area, Hon. Ceaser Ofosu Acheampong, urging him to educate his footsoldiers on due process and put an end to what he describes as the unlawful use of force in dealing with matters of public interest.
In the letter signed by one G. O Darko and addressed to the DCE, the writer expressed disgust over recent developments in the district, particularly the continued closure of the Nkenkaasu daily market stalls and the similar takeover attempt at the Health Insurance Office at Afrancho.
“It’s about time you educate your footsoldiers on the need to use due process in dealing with matters which might be of concern to them rather than resorting to old and antiquity use of force,” the letter stated.
According to the author, the Nkenkaasu daily market stalls still remain closed with padlocks after footsoldiers allegedly used force and violence to eject lawful occupants, a situation the DCE has reportedly not been able to resolve.
“And now the Health Insurance Office at Afrancho also faces similar fate,” he added.
The writer questioned the amount of public funds and private investment going to waste as a result of the actions, describing them as unlawful acts of forcibly getting people out of their lawful places of work.
“Are We Still in the Stone Age?”
The open letter further challenged the sense of entitlement being displayed by some political actors.
“Are we still in the era of stone age where the fittest survives just because they believe their government is in power? By the way, what makes them think the government whom we all pay our taxes to belongs to them alone?”
“What is influencing that kind of Kid’s thinking of self entitlement to every benefit the government is supposed to provide to the citizens? Do they think they are superior human beings just because they are members of a political association which has been given four years to govern this country?”
For the records, the author noted that none of the facilities in question were even constructed under the current government.
Describing the situation as “very disgusting to say the least,” the concerned native called for seriousness and accountability, stressing that Offinso North deserves better.
He concluded by appealing to Hon. Ceaser Ofosu Acheampong to take urgent steps to ensure the right things are done and that lawful occupants are allowed to return to work as a matter of urgency.
Efforts to get a response from the office of the Offinso North DCE on the allegations were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
