Bawumia Calls for NPP Unity, Warns Against Factionalism and Unauthorized Actions in His Name

Accra, Ghana – Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated that the New Patriotic Party operates as one unified front, stating there are no separate factions within the party and warning against attempts to create division in his name.

In a statement addressing recent political chatter, Dr. Bawumia said the NPP has no “Bawumia faction,” “Kennedy faction,” “Bryan faction,” or any other splinter groups.

“We have one NPP party,” he said. “Anyone suggesting otherwise is misrepresenting the reality on the ground and undermining the unity we have worked to build.”

He specifically cautioned against individuals who may seek to remove Members of Parliament or influence party affairs under false pretenses.

“No one named Mavis Nobody, or any other person, should seek to remove any MP in my name,” Dr. Bawumia stated. “I have not authorized such actions, and I will not be associated with efforts that create disunity within our party.”

The former Vice President emphasized that the NPP’s strength lies in its cohesion and shared purpose ahead of future political contests.

He urged party members at all levels to focus on consolidating the party’s base rather than entertaining narratives of internal division.

“Our opponents benefit when we turn on each other,” he said. “Let’s keep our eyes on the goal and work together as one party, one people.”

Party insiders say the comment is aimed at quelling speculation about factional battles within the NPP and reaffirming the message of unity that has been a recurring theme in Dr. Bawumia’s public engagements.
