Preparatory School Unveils New Pre-School Complex
Kumasi, Ahinsan Estate .Good Shepherd R/C Preparatory School at Ahinsan Estate in Kumasi has marked a major milestone in its history with the joyful blessing and dedication of its newly constructed Pre-School Complex.
The colourful and faith-filled ceremony, held on Wednesday, 29th July 2026, was led by His Grace, Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye, Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, together with the Very Rev. Msgr. Louis Kofi Tuffour, Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi.
The new complex, described by school authorities as a symbol of growth and commitment to quality Catholic education, is designed to provide a more nurturing, safe, and faith-filled learning environment for children at the foundational level.
The dedication ceremony drew a distinguished gathering of dignitaries and well-wishers.
The school was honoured by the presence of Hon. Kwabena Boateng, Member of Parliament for Ejisu, the Proprietress, priests and religious, teaching and non-teaching staff, pupils, parents, old students, and invited guests from across the Archdiocese and beyond.
In his homily and blessing, Archbishop Anokye commended the management of Good Shepherd R/C Preparatory School for their vision and investment in early childhood education.
He noted that forming children in a safe, loving, and God-centred environment is the greatest foundation for their future and for the Church and society.
He prayed for God’s continuous protection over the children who will learn in the facility and for wisdom for teachers and caregivers.
Very Rev. Msgr. Tuffour also lauded the school’s leadership for staying true to the Catholic mission of holistic education intellectual, moral, and spiritual formation.
Speaking on behalf of the school, management expressed profound gratitude to the Archbishop, the Vicar General, Hon. Kwabena Boateng, and all who contributed in diverse ways to making the project a reality.
They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining high academic standards while upholding the Catholic ethos of discipline, compassion, and excellence.
Parents and guests who toured the facility after the dedication praised the modern design, child-friendly classrooms, improved safety features, and serene atmosphere conducive to learning.
The blessing of the new Pre-School Complex signals a new chapter for Good Shepherd R/C Preparatory School, Ahinsan Estate, as it continues to position itself as a centre of excellence in early childhood and basic education in the Ashanti Region.
The celebration ended with thanksgiving, fellowship, and joyous performances by pupils of the school.
