Ahafo Deputy Chief Imam Praises Catholic Diocese of Goaso for Interfaith Support at 10th Anniversary Celebration

 

GOASO – The Deputy Chief Imam of the Ahafo Region has publicly commended the Catholic Diocese of Goaso for its longstanding support of the Muslim community, describing the gesture as a practical example of religious tolerance in Ghana.

Speaking during his 10th Anniversary celebration, the Deputy Chief Imam said the Diocese, under the leadership of the Bishop Most Reverend Peter Kwaku Atuahene has consistently opened its premises and parking grounds to Muslims for prayers without charging any fees.

“Anytime Muslims use the  premises or park for prayers, we are never charged. This is a true sign of peace, unity, and religious tolerance between Christians and Muslims,” he stated.

He expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Catholic Diocese of Goaso and the Bishop Most Reverend Peter Kwaku Atuahene in charge for what he called “continuous love and support” toward Muslims in the region.

The Imam also extended profound gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the anniversary celebration, noting that their presence made the occasion memorable.

Special recognition went to Hon. Alhaji Collins Dauda for his leadership and role in securing a vehicle donation from H.E. John Dramani Mahama for the Muslim community.

The event brought together religious leaders, community members, and political figures, reinforcing calls for peaceful coexistence between faith groups in Ahafo Region.
