Complete Our Abandoned School Block – Tabere Unit Committee Chairman Appeals to Govt

The Unit Committee Chairman for Tabere in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Robert Aboagye, has appealed to government and benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the community to complete an abandoned school block.

According to him, pupils in the community are forced to learn in dilapidated structures that have become a death trap, a situation that is crippling academic work.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Aboagye lamented that teaching and learning are being conducted under deplorable conditions, with no proper security, furniture, and electricity.

He disclosed that work on a new classroom block meant to replace the weak structure has stalled after the contractor abandoned the site, despite numerous efforts by community leaders to get him back to work.

“The future of our children is at stake. How can they learn effectively when they are sitting in a structure that can collapse on them at any time?” he quizzed.

Mr. Aboagye is therefore calling on the Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North, the District Assembly, and philanthropists to urgently intervene and provide funding to complete the project to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for the children.

He warned that if nothing is done immediately, the community risks recording a disaster while the education of the next generation continues to suffer.
