Free Blood Pressure Screening and Health Education Held at Dumasua Offinso M/A JHS
DUMASUA, OFFINSO – Dumasua M/A JHS in the Offinso South Municipal hosted a health education session and free blood pressure screening today as part of Hypertension Awareness Month activities.
Staff, parents, and community members received on-site checks and practical advice on preventing and managing high blood pressure.
According to Mr.Benjamin Benjamin Ofosu Owusu-Ansah Organizer said the outreach focused on early detection, since many people live with hypertension without obvious symptoms.
“Hypertension does not discriminate by age, status, or profession,” the health team said during the session. “Regular screening is critical because catching it early saves lives.”
The program is part of Mr.Benjamin Owusu-Ansah AKURAASE NURSE ongoing mission to take health education and preventive care directly to schools, markets, churches, and rural communities across the Offinso area.
Similar outreach sessions have been held throughout the month.
Participants were encouraged to adopt four key habits:
1. Eat a balanced, low-salt diet
2. Exercise regularly
3. Manage stress where possible
4. Check blood pressure frequently
“A healthy community begins with awareness and prevention,” the organizers stated, urging teachers, parents, and students to make screening a routine part of life.
The initiative runs under the banner Mr.Benjamin Ofosu Owusu-Ansah AKURAASE NURSE Redefining Rural Health and Education, which continues to expand community-based health interventions in underserved areas.
