There is renewed hope for schools in the Adansi North District as a timely intervention by a native son begins to change the narrative in the area’s struggling education sector.
Despite ongoing challenges including dilapidated classrooms, inadequate furniture, and lack of teaching materials, the district is now witnessing a boost following a donation by an official from the the philanthropist, Owusu Asare.
The donation, which includes mathematical sets, pens, and other essential learning materials, has brought relief to pupils and teachers across several public basic schools.
The District Education Director, Alhaji Ibrahim Amankwah, had earlier painted a worrying picture of the sector, citing poor infrastructure, sanitation challenges, and lack of teacher accommodation as major setbacks affecting effective teaching and learning.
But the intervention by Mr. Asare is being seen as a beacon of hope.
Beyond education, the philanthropist also extended support to an orphanage home at Kusa, donating food items such as rice, cooking oil, and bottled water to support the children.
