Biakoye MP, Afarinick Company Ltd Distribute 30,000 Cocoa Seedlings to Boost Production

Hon. Jean Marie, Member of Parliament for Biakoye, in partnership with *Afarinick Company Ltd*, has distributed 30,000 cocoa seedlings to registered farmers in the constituency as part of efforts to address declining cocoa production in Ghana.

The seedlings, supported by Afarinick Company Ltd, were given to farmers who registered for the program.

Pictures from the distribution show beneficiaries receiving them ahead of the next planting season.

Hon. Jean Marie said the initiative aims to support farmers with improved planting materials and contribute to the government’s “reset agenda” for the cocoa sector.

“Cocoa remains the backbone of our local economy. With support from Afarinick Company Ltd, we’re helping farmers renew aging farms and increase yields for the future,” she said.

Ghana’s cocoa output has faced pressure in recent years due to aging trees, disease, and climate challenges.

The MP noted that direct support to farmers, with private sector partnership, is key to reversing the trend at the constituency level.
