“Healthcare Gets a Boost: Japanese Ambassador Commissions CHPS Compound in Ashanti Region”
The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana has officially commissioned a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound in Offinso Brekum, Ashanti Region.
This initiative aims to improve healthcare delivery in rural areas and promote community development.
During an interview with the media, the ambassador highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare in promoting community development.
He explained that the support for the CHPS compound is part of Japan’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Ghana, particularly in rural areas where healthcare services are often limited.
Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah, Municipal Chief Executive, urged Ghanaians, especially those in the health sector, to accept postings in rural areas.
He emphasized that this would not only increase development but also help reduce mortality rates in these areas.
Mad. Auderine Nti, Municipal Health Director, expressed gratitude to the ambassador for the support. She explained that the new CHPS compound would significantly reduce the high rate of maternal and neonatal deaths in the area, which has been a major concern in previous years.
The CHPS compound is expected to provide quality healthcare services to rural communities, promoting health and wellbeing.
By increasing access to healthcare, the facility aims to reduce mortality rates and improve overall health outcomes in the area.
The Japanese Government’s support for Ghana’s healthcare sector demonstrates its commitment to promoting development and improving the lives of Ghanaians, particularly in rural areas.
