Akokofe Krontihene Pledges Support For Community Development
Akokofe, Ashanti Region -The Office of the Akokofe Krontihene has marked the first anniversary of the enstoolment of Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II as Akokofe Krontihene and Nana Abenaaa Boahemaa as Akokofe Krontihemaa, with a renewed pledge to champion community development.
The colourful anniversary celebration, held at Akokofe in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region, brought together a rich blend of traditional leaders, clergy, politicians, and well-wishers to honour one year of dedicated traditional leadership and service to Akokofeman.
Grand Durbar of Chiefs and Dignitaries
The ceremony was graced by prominent traditional rulers including Asuofua Hemaa, Nana Barnie Ahenkan; Nana Karikari Okogyedom II; Otumfuo Topreman Krontre; the Kromoase Kotokuomhene; Oheneyere Komfour Adomah Karikari (Tano Kofi Komfour); and Kuntanase Deduakohene, Nana Agyei.
Also in attendance were members of the clergy, staff of Oyerepa FM/TV, NPP members from the Oforikrom Constituency led by former constituency chairman Mr. Seidu, and a large gathering of residents of Akokofe and surrounding communities.
The Akokofehene, Osako Adu Panin, was represented by his Nifahene, Nana Yaw Tweneboa Kodua, while the Akokofehemaa was represented by the Oyokohemaa, Nana Yaa Yeboah Asiamah, together with elders of the Akokofe Divisional Council.
Their presence underscored the unity and solidarity within the Akokofe Traditional setup.
Nana Yere Rebecca Frimpong Manso also graced the occasion in support of her husband’s development agenda for the community.
Nkosuohene Pledges Borehole for Akokofeman
The Special Guest of Honour for the occasion was Nana Adu Gyamfi Kumanin Barima Kesse I, Nyankyerenease Nkosuohene.
In his address, Nana Kumanin Barima Kesse I commended Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II for his exemplary leadership within his first year and assured him of his unwavering support for his vision to transform Akokofeman.
As a concrete demonstration of his support, the Nyankyerenease Nkosuohene pledged to construct a mechanised borehole for the people of Akokofeman to help address the community’s water challenges.
The announcement was met with loud applause from the gathering, as access to potable water remains a key need for the area.
Commitment to Development
Addressing the durbar, Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty, to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to the Akokofehene and Akokofehemaa, and to the entire people of Akokofeman for their support over the past year.
He stated that his office remains fully committed to supporting the growth and development of Akokofeman, Bosomtwe, Asanteman and Ghana at large.
Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II emphasised that his leadership will work in close alignment with the direction and vision of his overlord, the Akokofehene, Osako Adu Panin, to initiate programmes and projects that will improve the living standards of the people, particularly in the areas of education, water and sanitation, youth empowerment and preservation of Asante culture.
The first anniversary celebration ended with prayers for long life, wisdom and unity for the leadership of Akokofe and for the continued peace and progress of Asanteman.
