Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary (SUWMA) donates to Amanfrom Prisons camp

Amanfrom Camp Prison is a correctional facility and the first camp prison in the Ashanti Region.

The prison was established in 1992, it functions as both a place of incarceration for male inmates and an agricultural hub, engaging prisoners in ventures like oil palm cultivation, maize farming, and livestock to promote self-sustainability and skill development.

The prison aims to rehabilitate inmates through agriculture and other skills, contributing to food security and reducing government expenditure.

With this, The Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary (SUWMA) in the Methodist Church of Ghana has carried out its annual donations to the inmates of the Amanfrom Prison Camp.

The association gave generously towards the success of the inmate visitation.

The items donated include bags of rice, cooking oils, toiletries, bags of sacket water and among others.

The leaders of the Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary charged the officers of the Ghana prison service to consider their role as a special ministry for God and country.

They said, the officers must remain focused on the job, help in the transformation process of inmates, and above all keep their faith in God.

The Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary continues to warm hearts with the love of Christ by feeding the hungry, quenching the thirsty, welcoming the stranger , clothing the naked, visiting the sick and going to the aid of the prisoner.

They therefore appealed to other cooperate bodies to come to the aid of the inmates in the prison service.

Receiving the items, Rev. Father Francis Ebu, the chaplain of the Amanfrom Prison thanked the Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary for their unrelenting support towards the welfare of inmates in Ghana’s prisons.

While urging other faith-based organizations and benevolent individuals to come to the aid of the Amanfrom Prison Camp, he also assured the SUWMA that the items received would be put to good use.

He therefore appealed to the government and the general public to assist the prison health facility to acquire medicines in order to meet the health needs of the inmates.
