United Petty Traders Association Disowns Woman in Viral Video Insulting President Mahama

Ashanti Region  United Petty Traders Association in Kumasi has dissociated itself from a viral video showing a woman allegedly insulting President John Dramani Mahama at the Adum PZ area.

The association says the woman captured in the video is not a member of the group and should not be linked to the association in any way.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM reporter Dominic Duut in Kumasi, Chairman of the association, Emmanuel Amoah, described the woman’s conduct as unfortunate, disrespectful and unacceptable.

He stressed that the association condemns the remarks in no uncertain terms, noting that the actions of one individual should not be used to tarnish the image of thousands of law-abiding traders in the metropolis.

Mr. Amoah further appealed to President John Dramani Mahama, the Ashanti Regional Minister and the Mayor of Kumasi to forgive the association over the incident, explaining that the viral video has wrongly portrayed members of the group in a negative light.

He assured the public that the United Petty Traders Association remains committed to promoting discipline, respect and peaceful coexistence, and will continue to cooperate with authorities to maintain order within the city’s trading community.
