OFFINSO NORTH MP SHINES ON FLOOR OF PARLIAMENT – HON. DR. FRED KYEI ASAMOAH LAUDED FOR STELLAR PERFORMANCE

Parliament House, Accra,13th May, 2026

Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, the Member of Parliament for Offinso North Constituency and Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Chieftaincy, Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs, delivered a remarkable and thought-provoking submission on the floor of Parliament today.

In what many observers have described as a masterclass in legislative advocacy, the Offinso North legislator demonstrated profound wisdom, deep understanding of national issues, and eloquence that held the entire House in rapt attention.

Speaking passionately on matters bordering on Chieftaincy, Culture and National Development – a sector which is at the heart of his Committee’s mandate – Dr. Kyei Asamoah reiterated the critical role traditional leadership, cultural heritage and religious tolerance play in Ghana’s sustainable development.

He argued that Ghana cannot achieve true socio-economic transformation while neglecting the silent but powerful institution of chieftaincy, stressing that most advanced nations have thrived because they deliberately invested in and modernized their cultural values.

“What a remarkable display of wisdom, leadership, and eloquence. We are proud of your dedication and outstanding representation of the good people of Offinso North,” a constituent commented after watching the live proceedings.

Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, who assumed office on 7th January 2025 as MP on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has since distinguished himself as a results-oriented leader.

As Chairman of the Committee, he has assured Ghanaians that his Committee will not be a dormant one, but will provide robust oversight to the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and ensure that culture and tourism become real drivers of job creation for the youth.

His leadership was recently evident when he led the Committee on a historic courtesy call on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace to deepen collaboration between Parliament and traditional authorities in preserving Ghana’s heritage.

Colleagues on both sides of the House commended his submission for its depth, research, and practical solutions, particularly his consistent call for proper state arrangements for pilgrims, investment in tourism infrastructure, and the use of culture as a tool for peacebuilding and resolving tribal conflicts.

Indeed, the people of Offinso North have every reason to be proud. From his Anidaso Students’ Assistanship Program (ASAP) supporting tertiary students to his health and community development initiatives, Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah continues to prove that effective representation goes beyond the chamber.

Today’s performance on the floor has once again cemented his reputation as one of the most articulate, knowledgeable and promising voices in the 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic.

Offinso North is truly rising.

Offinso North Anidaso – Hope for a Greater Future.
