SDA College of Education, Agona-Ashanti Records Historic Academic Milestone at 7th Congregation.
Agona-Ashanti, The Seventh-day Adventist College of Education, Agona-Ashanti, has recorded a historic academic milestone at its 7th Congregation Ceremony, with an unprecedented number of First Class Honours in the College’s history.
A total of 262 graduates were conferred with Bachelor of Education degrees at the colourful ceremony, which celebrated academic excellence, dedication and the College’s commitment to training highly competent professional teachers for Ghana.
In what has been described as the best academic performance in the history of the institution, 41 graduates attained First Class Honours, the highest number ever recorded by the College.
The full classification of the Class of 2025 is as follows:
– 41 – First Class Honours
– 135 – Second Class Upper Division
– 69 – Second Class Lower Division
– 17 – Third Class Honours
The highlight of the congregation was the exceptional performance of Miss Jessica Brobbey, Valedictorian for the 2025 graduating class.
Miss Brobbey, who graduated with an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.90, made history by sweeping seven prestigious awards, affirming her dominance throughout her four-year programme.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished personalities from the education sector, including Dr. Jacob Manu of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Prof. Eric Anane of the Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast (UCC), the Principal of the College, Dr. Peter Ofori Attakorah, as well as traditional leaders, educationists, staff, parents and invited guests.
In his address, the College Principal lauded the graduates for their hard work and discipline, and commended the teaching and non-teaching staff for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and moral training.
The 7th Congregation was more than a celebration of degrees; it was a testament to the visionary leadership of the College’s management, the dedication of lecturers, and the resilience of students.
The record-breaking achievement of 41 First Class graduates, coupled with the Valedictorian’s remarkable sweep of seven major awards, further cements SDA College of Education, Agona-Ashanti’s reputation as a centre of excellence in teacher education and its significant contribution to Ghana’s educational.
