Regional Stool Lands Office Calls for Stakeholder Participation in Development Projects
Fomena, Ashanti Region – Nana Kwadu Kwakye II, Akwamuhene of Fomena, on behalf of Nana Adansihene, Opagyakotwere Bonsra Afriyie II, has expressed his appreciation to the Ashanti Regional Stool Lands Office for its courtesy visit to the Adansi Traditional Council.
Speaking during the visit, Nana Kwadu Kwakye II said the traditional authorities are committed to ensuring that stool land revenues collected by the district assemblies are properly monitored by Nananom to promote transparency and accountability.
The Ashanti Regional Stool Lands Officer, Osaberima Kwabena Yeboah Ababio, also urged district and municipal assemblies to involve key stakeholders, including assembly members, opinion leaders, and traditional authorities, in decisions regarding the use of stool land revenues for development projects.
According to him, involving these stakeholders will encourage community members to appreciate how the revenues are being utilized and motivate them to pay their stool land revenues promptly.
