Pure Football Joy Lights Up Today’s Sports on Oyerepa TV/FM as Arsenal Fans Celebrate Historic Title Triumph

Kumasi, Ghan – The studio of Today’s Sports on Oyerepa TV/FM was electric on Monday as the team paused regular analysis to celebrate what host and crew called “pure football joy” honoring one of Arsenal’s most loyal Ghanaian supporters, Sir Sometymer Otuo Acheampong, following the club’s Premier League title win that ended a 22-year wait.

The broadcast opened with the signature Today’s Sports jingle, but quickly shifted from tactical breakdowns to an emotional tribute.

Presenters described the moment as “bigger than football,” highlighting how the Gunners’ triumph has resonated across Ghana’s football community.

A Fan’s Decades of Loyalty Recognized
Sir Sometymer Otuo Acheampong, a well-known figure in Kumasi’s Arsenal supporters’ circles, was celebrated live on air for his unwavering support since the early 2000s.

The Oyerepa team shared clips of him leading chants at viewing centers, organizing fan meetups, and keeping the spirit alive through lean seasons.

“He never missed a game, never stopped believing, even when it was hard,” one presenter said on air. “This title is for fans like him who carried the club in their hearts for 22 years.”

The crew presented Sir Sometymer with a commemorative Arsenal jersey and a citation from the Today’s Sports team, acknowledging his role in building the club’s fan culture in the Ashanti Region.

“We talk tactics every day,” said the host. “But today, we talk about joy. About loyalty being rewarded. That’s why people love this game.”

The full tribute and fan reactions will re-air on Oyerepa TV’s evening sports bulletin and on Oyerepa FM’s drive-time show.
