Fatal Crash in Akomadan Leaves 12 Dead, Two in Critical Conditio
AKOMADAN, Ghana – May 26, 2026– A fatal road accident in Akomadan has claimed 12 lives, with two others receiving emergency treatment, officials confirmed Tuesday.
The collision, which occurred earlier today, involved multiple vehicles. Emergency responders transported the injured to Nkenkaasu Government Hospital, where two remain in the emergency unit in critical condition.
The deceased have been placed in the hospital’s morgue at Nkenkaasu Gov. Hospital. Dr. Samuel Freeman Mensah, a gynaecologist at the facility, has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the victims.
“Many of the deceased have not yet been identified. We are calling on members of the public who may have relatives or friends unaccounted for to come forward and help with identification,” Dr. Mensah said.
Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of the accident. Investigations are ongoing.
