The political temperature in Asokwa Constituency is rising as key executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have picked and submitted their nomination forms ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections.
In line with the NPP’s national roadmap, nominations for constituency executive positions opened on June 22 and closed on June 24, 2026.
Vetting of aspirants is scheduled for June 25 to June 27, with elections slated for July 11 and July 12, 2026.
On Tuesday, June 24, Mr. Prince Nyarko ( WYCLEF ) filed his nomination to contest the Youth Organizer position in Asokwa.
Addressing delegates and supporters after submitting his forms, Mr. Prince Nyarko ( WYCLEF ) said:“The NPP needs leaders who can unite, mobilize, and bring tangible opportunities to the base. I am offering myself to serve with experience and results,” he said.
Also submitting his forms for the Youth Organizer slot was Mr. Prince Nyarko ( WYCLEF ), popularly known as _Wyclef_.
Speaking to the media after filing, the aspirant positioned himself as “a brother and friend to all youth in Asokwa,” pledging to leverage his access across different circles to lobby for jobs, training, and empowerment programs for young party members.
“I have the reach to open doors. My focus will be on skills training, entrepreneurship support, and programs that give our youth a stake in the party’s future,” Wyclef stated.
The Youth Organizer race is expected to be keenly contested, with both aspirants promising to prioritize youth mobilization and welfare as the NPP reorganizes from the polling station to the national level.
Constituency elections form the final stage of the NPP’s internal polls, following polling station and electoral area elections held earlier this year.
The Constituency Executive Committee, together with the Regional Steering Committee, is responsible for overseeing the process under the guidance of the national secretariat.
Vetting of all aspirants in Asokwa begins today, June 25, as the constituency prepares for what many describe as a defining internal contest ahead of 2028.
