Donyina St. Anthony Ann Catholic Hospital Marks 70 Years with Launch of New Hospital Complex
Donyina, Konongo-Mampong, The Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong has officially launched the 70th anniversary celebrations of St. Anthony Ann Catholic Hospital, Donyina, with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass and the sod-cutting for a new hospital complex.
The Mass was presided over by the Bishop of Konongo-Mampong, Most Rev. John Yaw Opoku Agyemang, who led clergy, staff, patients, and well-wishers in thanksgiving for seven decades of Catholic health service in the area.
As part of the launch, Bishop Opoku Agyemang cut the sod for an ultra-modern hospital complex designed to expand clinical services and increase bed capacity.
The project aims to meet the needs of Donyina’s growing population and reduce pressure on existing facilities.
“St. Anthony Ann Catholic Hospital has been a beacon of healing and hope for 70 years,” the Diocese noted during the ceremony.
“This new complex is a commitment to ensuring that quality, compassionate care continues for the next generation.”
The 70th anniversary program will run through October with a series of activities highlighting the hospital’s history, service, and community impact. The celebrations will culminate in a Grand Finale on 9th October 2026.
St. Anthony Ann Catholic Hospital, established in 1956, has served as a key health provider in the Konongo-Mampong Diocese, combining medical care with the Catholic mission of service to the sick and vulnerable.
The Diocese says further details on anniversary events will be announced in the coming weeks. If you’re planning to attend the Grand Finale on 9th October 2026, check with the hospital administration for updates on the schedule.
