A man from Bukedea District in Uganda has reportedly uncovered through a DNA test that the 19-year-old girl he raised as his daughter is not biologically his.

According to reports, the man carried out the test after nearly two decades of believing she was his child. When the results confirmed otherwise, he allegedly withdrew financial support for her education.

In a controversial turn, the man is said to have proposed marriage to the young woman, arguing that the absence of a biological link meant they were no longer related.

Reports further claim that the young woman accepted the proposal, and the two are preparing to marry.

The incident comes at a time when paternity testing is becoming more common in Uganda, leading to an increasing number of men discovering they are not the biological fathers of children they have raised.
