Protect! Don’t Exploit Me: SCA to Host Webinar Marking World Day Against Child Labour

SCA  to host a public webinar titled-“Protect! Don’t Exploit Me: Ending the Cycle of Child Labour in Our Communities” in commemoration of the World Day Against Child Labour.

The session will convene advocates, policymakers, and community leaders to advance concrete action aimed at safeguarding the rights and futures of children across West Africa.

The webinar is designed as a platform for organizations at the forefront of child protection to share field experiences, examine the root causes of child labour and exploitation, and outline practical strategies for strengthening prevention and response at the community level.

Organizers say the event will focus on deepening public understanding of how child labour affects education, health, and long-term development, while fostering stronger collaboration between government, civil society, and local actors.

A coalition of partners will support the session, including the Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre, Centre for Development & Policy Advocacy, Department of Social Welfare Ghana, Child Rights International Ghana, ChildFund, Talitha Kum Africa, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, the West Africa Civil Society Institute, and the Street Children Empowerment Foundation.

SCA described the webinar as part of its broader commitment to creating safer environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive free from exploitation. “Ending child labour requires more than policy on paper,” the organizers stated.

“It takes coordinated action from government, civil society, and communities themselves. This webinar is an open invitation to everyone committed to that goal.”

The organization is encouraging advocates, educators, social workers, students, and concerned citizens to participate in the discussion. Details on the date, time, and registration will be released through SCA’s official channels.

Media inquiries and partnership requests can be directed to SCA’s public communications office.
