Peace Begins with Dignity: A Global Call to End Human Trafficking

Safe-Child Advocacy, a non-governmental organization focused on assisting vulnerable children and women, has joined forces with several partners to combat human trafficking.

The organization is calling on individuals, institutions, and governments to work together to end this heinous crime.

The call to action comes as the world marks the International Day Against Human Trafficking.

Safe-Child Advocacy, in collaboration with ConPAHT- Talitha Kum Ghana, hosted an online event featuring a panel discussion on the theme “Care for Victims: Empowerment of Survivors of Human Trafficking”.

Rev. Sister Olivia Umoh, Director of Safe-Child Advocacy, emphasizes that human trafficking is a global issue that requires a collective effort to resolve.

The organization is working with partners such as IOM Ghana, Centre for Development & Policy Advocacy, and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to raise awareness and support victims.

Ghana has made progress in combating human trafficking, with the government maintaining a tier two ranking in the global trafficking report for 2022.

Efforts include the launch of a National Plan of Action for the Elimination of Human Trafficking and the renovation of a government shelter for child victims of trafficking.
