Fuel Price Reduction: Oforikrom MP Credits External Factors, Not Government

Fuel Price Reduction: Oforikrom MP Credits External Factors, Not Government.

The Member of Parliament for Oforikrom, Hon Michael Kwasi Aidoo, has attributed the recent reduction in fuel prices in Ghana to external factors rather than government policies.

According to the opposition MP, the drop in fuel prices is a result of global market trends and not a direct result of government actions.

The Africa Sustainable Energy Centre (ASEC) had earlier predicted a 5-9% drop in fuel prices due to the appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar and declining global crude oil prices.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has also been calling for further reductions in fuel prices, arguing that the current prices are still too high.
