Twifo Aduabeng CHPS Compound Cries For Support As New Nurses Quarters Project Takes Shape
The Assembly Member for the Twifo Aduabeng Electoral Area, Hon. Latiff Addae, is constructing a one-room nurses’ quarters for the Twifo Aduabeng CHPS Compound from his own resources.
According to Hon. Addae, the intervention has become necessary due to the lack of accommodation for health workers at the facility. He explained that because nurses reside far from the CHPS Compound, they are unable to respond promptly to emergency cases, sometimes resulting in loss of lives.
“When emergency cases are brought to the CHPS compound, especially in the evening, there is no nurse around. By the time the nurse arrives from home, the situation would have already worsened. That is why I decided to use my little resources to build this quarters, so that nurses will stay within the facility and attend to patients immediately,” he stated.
Hon. Addae further appealed to government to come to the aid of the community by constructing a new CHPS Compound, stating that the current structure is too small to serve the growing population of the electoral area.
He also called on philanthropists, NGOs, and well-meaning individuals to support the development of the community.
Meanwhile, a nurse at the facility, Madam Naomi Addae, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Latiff Addae for the kind gesture. She prayed for God’s blessings upon him and appealed for support to complete the project.
She also outlined some challenges facing the facility, including the lack of a placenta pit and the small size of the current building, and appealed to government, the DCE, the Member of Parliament, and other stakeholders for assistance.
Finally Nana Tweneboah Kodua, Gyedom Hene for Twifo Aduabeng, also commended Hon.Latiff Addae and appealed to government, NGOs, and affluent individuals to support the community.
He noted that although the facility has six nurses, the accommodation and the CHPS Compound itself are woefully inadequate to serve the large number of patients who patronize it daily.
He therefore joined the call for the construction of a new and befitting CHPS Compound for Twifo Aduabeng.
