Kristo Asafo Mission Alleges Adwoa Safo Damaged Church Gates, Denies Shooting Claims
Ghana, June 21, 2026 — The leadership of Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana has accused former MP Sarah Adwoa Safo of forcefully driving her vehicle into the entrance gates of its Kwabenya property, causing substantial damage and endangering worshippers during a church event held today.
In a statement released for immediate circulation, the church said Adwoa Safo struck her vehicle against two metallic gates after arriving at the venue.

“Numerous worshippers and invited guests were present within the premises, including individuals seated in close proximity to the entrance.
The actions described above created a serious risk to life and property,” the statement read.
Church leadership said security personnel intervened to prevent further escalation and protect attendees.
They noted that if the gates had collapsed or the vehicle had proceeded beyond the entrance, the safety of those present “could have been gravely endangered.”
The statement also dismissed circulating social media reports claiming Adwoa Safo was shot by her brother during the incident.
The church described those reports as “false and misleading,” saying they were an apparent attempt to create “a false impression of having sustained a gunshot injury.”
Based on information available to them, it said no shooting occurred.
Kristo Asafo Mission is now calling for a thorough and impartial investigation by relevant authorities into all aspects of the incident.
It urged the public to refrain from drawing conclusions based on unverified social media reports and to allow law enforcement agencies to establish the facts through due process.
The church reaffirmed its commitment to “peace, truth, the rule of law, and the safety of all persons who attend our events.”
Adwoa Safo has not yet commented publicly on the church’s allegations.
