Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Assembly Approves 2027 Budget, Prioritizes Education and Healt

The Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Assembly in the Central Region has approved its budget for the 2027 fiscal year, with a strong focus on education, health and rural electrification.

At a general assembly sitting, Assembly Members disclosed that education will receive major priority, with plans to construct several school buildings across the district.

The projects will be funded from 10% of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

On health, the Assembly also plans to construct Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds in various communities to improve access to primary healthcare. This intervention will also be financed from the 10% DACF allocation.

Addressing the sitting, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Hon. Isaac Yawson, revealed that about thirty communities in the district are currently without electricity.

He noted that following lobbying efforts together with the Member of Parliament and the Council of State member, the Ministry of Energy has approved nine communities for connection to the national grid in 2027.

Hon. Yawson expressed optimism that the implementation of the approved budget would accelerate development and improve the living conditions of residents in the district.
