Elite of Mouk Urged To Champion Peace For A Prosperous Bimobaland

A peace advocacy group, Bimoba Peace Now, has made a passionate appeal to the elite of Mouk to lead the drive towards lasting peace and prosperity in Bimobaland.

The call is contained in a peace message titled “Parmaasir Bat Fabinii To Elite In Mouk,”which stresses that influence comes with responsibility and that the elite must lead the way to peace.

The message, anchored on the theme *”Building a Peaceful and Prosperous Bimobaland Together,”* highlights dialogue, traditional leadership, youth empowerment, reconciliation and unity as critical pathways to sustainable peace.

The group urged the people of Mouk to prioritize dialogue over conflict, noting that words heal faster than weapons. It also emphasized the need to incorporate elders and respect traditional wisdom, describing elders as key to calming tensions and guiding communities toward resolution.

On youth development, the initiative noted that investing in education, jobs and opportunities remains essential to peacebuilding, arguing that empowering young people will prevent them from being drawn into violence.

The campaign further called for an end to the cycle of revenge and retaliation that has fuelled recurring conflicts in the area, urging residents to allow pain to end with them and embrace reconciliation.

It also stressed the importance of unity, reminding the people that they are one people with a common destiny, and that peace is their shared wealth.

According to the group, the message is a direct charge to the elite of Mouk to use their positions, voices and resources to promote understanding, reconciliation and development.
