Salaga South MP Expresses Concern Over Reported Missing Child at Salaga Government Hospital.

 

The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has expressed deep concern over reports of a missing child at the Salaga Government Hospital, describing the incident as distressing and calling for calm as investigations continue.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, June 10, the MP disclosed that the incident reportedly occurred around midday, with an official complaint lodged at the Salaga Police Station at approximately 2:00 p.m.

According to information she received from the Ghana Police Service in Salaga, two midwives have been arrested in connection with the case and are currently assisting with investigations.

The suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be arraigned before a court as part of the ongoing legal process.

Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, who described herself as both a mother and a representative of the people of Salaga South, said she shares in the anxiety, pain, and concern being experienced by the affected family and the wider constituency.

“The safety and wellbeing of every child remains paramount to me, and this incident has understandably caused great distress within our community,” she stated.

The MP assured the family and the public that she is closely monitoring developments and engaging the relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and the pursuit of justice.

She expressed confidence in the professionalism of the Ghana Police Service and its ability to handle the matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.

Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah further appealed to residents and the general public to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information that could interfere with ongoing investigations. “Let us allow the security agencies and relevant institutions the space to carry out their work while we continue to support the affected family during this difficult period,” she urged.

The MP concluded by extending her thoughts and prayers to the family and expressing hope for a swift and positive resolution to the unfortunate situation. Investigations into the matter are ongoing. :
