Nurse From 2023 Batch Turns To Cassava Farming, Appeals For Buyers After Years Without Posting
ASANTE MAMPONG- Ama Serwaa Ennin, a nurse who completed her training with the 2023 batch, is appealing to cassava farmers and processors to patronize her farm produce as she awaits government posting.
With no employment offer from the government yet, Ms. Ennin has diverted her energy into agriculture to sustain herself. She is currently cultivating and selling cassava to support production of _konte_ and _gari_ – two staple foods in high demand across Ghana.
“I trained to serve as a nurse, but 2 years after completing school, I’m still home waiting for posting. I can’t just sit idle,” she said. “I’m appealing to all cassava farmers, gari processors, and buyers to support my farm business as I wait on government.”
Her move reflects the growing number of health trainees turning to farming and small businesses due to delays in public sector employment.
