HON. DR. FRED KYEI ASAMOAH LEADS DELEGATION TO PAY COURTESY CALL ON NATIONAL CHIEF IMAM
MP for Offinso North Reaffirms Commitment to Peace, Religious Tolerance and National Unity
Accra – 1st September, 2026- The Member of Parliament for Offinso North and Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Chieftaincy, Culture, Tourism and Religious Affairs, Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, today, 1st September 2026, led a delegation to pay a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence at Fadama in Accra.
The visit, which was marked by warm fraternity and mutual respect, formed part of the MP’s ongoing stakeholder engagements aimed at strengthening interfaith harmony, promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, and fostering national cohesion.
Hon. Dr. Asamoah, who was accompanied by constituency executives, traditional leaders, and members of his office, expressed profound admiration for the centenarian Chief Imam’s decades-long role as a beacon of peace, tolerance and moral leadership in Ghana and beyond.
He noted that the Office of the National Chief Imam remains a critical partner in Ghana’s development agenda, particularly in areas of peacebuilding, youth moral formation, and community development.
“Ghana has been blessed with a leader like His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, whose life epitomizes selflessness, peace and service to humanity. As Chairman of the Committee on Chieftaincy, Culture, Tourism and Religious Affairs, I deem it a duty to tap from his wisdom and to strengthen the bond between Parliament, our traditional and religious institutions,” Hon. Dr. Asamoah said.
“We came to seek his blessings and prayers for our nation, for Parliament, and for the good people of Offinso North. Offinso North Anidaso is truly working for God and country,” he added.
His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, in response, welcomed the delegation and commended Hon. Dr. Asamoah for his exemplary leadership and his dedication to both national service and constituency development.
He offered special prayers for the MP, for the people of Offinso North, and for continued peace and prosperity for Ghana.
The National Chief Imam reiterated his call for Ghanaians to uphold the values of unity in diversity, humility and mutual respect, stressing that without peace, no meaningful development can take place.
He urged political leaders to place national interest above partisan considerations and to work together to address the needs of the ordinary Ghanaian.
The courtesy visit ended with an exchange of gifts and a closing prayer for the nation.
Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, a pharmacist by profession, has since assuming office in January 2025 championed several development initiatives in Offinso North including the Anidaso Students Assistantship Program (ASAP), youth empowerment through sports, and agricultural transformation advocacy.
