E/R:Machete Attack in Bonkame: Police Investigate Incident Involving Alleged Rape and Assault

The Akyem Tafo District Police Commander, Sup Raymond Mahama Idrisu, has revealed that his outfit received a complaint from Emanuel Diaba, who alleged that he and his wife were attacked with a machete by David and Amos, residents of Bonkame in the Fanteakwa South District of Ghana’s Eastern Region.

According to Sup Idrisu, the attack was linked to an alleged rape incident involving David and Amos, and the wife, Dora Tamkloe, which was previously arbitrated by town elders.

The police commander stated that the wife had reported the rape to her husband two weeks prior to the attack, and on May 11, 2026, the couple was attacked while on their way to the farm.

The police are investigating the matter, and both the complainant and the alleged perpetrators have received medical treatment for machete wounds.

The incident has left residents of Bonkame fearful, with reports of the machete fight causing concern in the community.
