Oforikrom MP Backs Catholic Bishops’ Stance on Homosexuality, Galamsey.
In an interview with Dominic Duut, Hon Mike Aidoo, MP for Oforikrom Municipal, praised the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference for their initiatives against homosexuality and galamsey.
He urged the government to make a proper rules and regulations in the mining areas, establish special courts to prosecute offenders regardless of political status, and initiate massive land reclamation.
He urged the government to put Ghana’s interests first, rather than personal or financial interests.
Hon Mike Aidoo supports the Catholic Bishops’ call for measures like special courts and land reclamation to combat galamsey, emphasizing collective responsibility in fighting the issue instead.
Hon.Michael Aidoo expressed disappointment with the government’s perceived inaction, calling for the passage of the “Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill”.
He stressed it’s a collective responsibility to fight galamsey, emphasizing he’s not involved and doesn’t know who is, but believes collective action with a strategic approach can combat it for Ghana’s betterment.
