Minority Calls for Resignation or Sacking of Lands Minister Kofi Armah Buah.

The Minority in Parliament is demanding the resignation or removal of Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, citing “shoddy work” and betrayal of Ghanaians’ trust.

This call comes after the withdrawal and reintroduction of the lithium agreement in Parliament, sparking controversy over mineral royalties.

The Minority argues that the Minister’s handling of the deal is unacceptable and warrants his dismissal.

The lithium agreement, which concerns the mining of lithium and other minerals in Mankessim, Central Region, has been met with criticism from various stakeholders, including civil society organizations and opposition leaders.

The Minister has held meetings with CSOs to discuss the agreement, emphasizing the government’s commitment to crafting a deal that benefits the local Ewoyaa community and the country.

However, critics argue that the proposed royalty rate is too low and urged the government to negotiate for higher rates.

The President is now under pressure to take action, with the Minority demanding accountability for the Minister’s actions.
