Fire Guts Kadjebi-Asato SHS Boys’ Dormitory, Students Collapse

A devastating fire broke out at Kadjebi-Asato Senior High School in the Oti Region, ravaging a boys’ dormitory room and leaving several students collapsed from exhaustion and anxiety.

The blaze, which occurred around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, destroyed all belongings and burned the roofing structure, with nothing salvageable left in the affected room.

According to reports, the Ghana National Fire Service faced significant challenges in responding to the emergency, as the district’s fire engine is currently out of commission, forcing personnel to rely on improvised methods to contain the flames.

Students, teachers, and community members worked together to stabilize those affected, who have since received attention. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

The incident has sparked widespread concern, highlighting the need for improved emergency response infrastructure in the region.
