“‘Sacred Duty’: Kumasi Archdiocese’s Rev. Sister Olivia Umoh Pledges Unwavering Protection for Children and Vulnerable Adults”

 

Kumasi — Rev. Sister Olivia Umoh, Director of the Safe Child Advocate (SCA) office within the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi‑Appiadu.

The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul was founded by St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac in France in 1633,where they has reiterated the organization’s unwavering dedication to protecting the safety and dignity of  children and vulnerable adults.

Speaking with Dominic Duut, a journalist of promise broadcasting limited,Rev Sister Olivia Umoh declared, “It is our sacred duty to safeguard the safety and dignity of every .”

The Safe Child Advocate initiative, part of the religious broader outreach, works to create safe environments where children and vulnerable adults can live, grow, and thrive free from harm.

“At Safe Child Advocate, we are committed each day to building spaces where all people  especially children and vulnerable adults ,can develop free from abuse,” Rev.Sister Umoh added._

She called on the community to join efforts to eradicate gender‑based violence, urging collective action: Saying “Together, let us unite to end gender‑based violence and build a future rooted in respect and protection for all”

These remarks come amid ongoing programs by the Religious and the Archdiocese to train our future leaders, church workers, teachers, and community leaders on child‑protection protocols and response mechanisms for survivors of abuse.

Rev.Sister OliviaUmoh concluded that “We continue to expand its Safe Child Advocate programs across parishes,Diocese and Archdiocese across the Globe, reinforcing the Church’s mission to protect the most vulnerable in society.
