Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II Calls for Accountability in El-Wak Stadium Tragedy

Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II, Akokofe Krontihene, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra, where a stampede occurred during the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise on November 12, 2025.

The traditional leader lamented that the incident was a result of leadership failure and called on the government to punish those responsible in the armed forces.

He emphasized the need for the government and the armed forces to replan and put measures in place to prevent such accidents in the future.

Nana Otiawere Frimpong Manso II’s sentiments come in the wake of the tragedy, which resulted in the loss of lives and injuries to several others.

The government has since announced an internal investigation into the incident.
