NPP Pledges Collaboration to Combat Galamsey Menace

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has emphasized the party’s recognition of the dangers posed by illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana.

Speaking at an NPP press conference, Hon. Kodua stated that the party is ready to work with the government to stop the menace.

According to the NPP General Secretary, the party acknowledges the significant threat galamsey poses to Ghana’s environment, economy, and future generations.

The statement comes amid growing concerns about the impact of illegal mining on the country’s natural resources, particularly in cocoa-growing areas.

The NPP’s stance on galamsey aligns with calls from other political leaders, including Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis Xavier Sosu, and former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul, who have both highlighted the need for urgent action against illegal mining.

The party’s willingness to collaborate with the government on this issue underscores the importance of a united front in tackling the galamsey menace.

As Ghana continues to grapple with the challenges posed by illegal mining, the NPP’s position suggests a potential for bipartisan cooperation in addressing this critical national issue.
