“Don’t Let Earthly Things Consume You” – Rev. Francis Abebrese’s Powerful Message on All Saints Day.
Rev. Fr. Francis Abebrese the parish priest for St.Agnes Parish offinso Maase, during the All Saints Day celebration at Offinso Maase St. Agnes Parish, reminded Christians that life on earth is temporary and that death precedes eternal life.
He emphasized the importance of living a virtuous life, citing the inscriptions found at some cemeteries that read “We were once like you” and “You will come here,” to illustrate the fleeting nature of human existence.
Rev.Fr.Francis encouraged Christians to shun sinful behaviors and turn their lives around, seeking God’s pleasure above worldly gains.
He urged the congregation to use the occasion to pray for themselves and others, prioritizing good deeds and preparing for eternal life.
“We should not be fooled by the temporary nature of this world,” Rev.Fr.Francis Abrebese said.
“Our focus should be on eternal life, where we will either face judgment or receive our reward. Let us use this opportunity to reflect on our lives, repent, and turn to God.”
Fr.Francis also emphasized the importance of intercessory prayer, encouraging Christians to pray for their loved ones who have passed on, as well as those still living.
He reminded the congregation that prayer can help bridge the gap between the living and the dead, and that it can also bring comfort to those in mourning.
Rev Francis Abebrese’s message was a call to action, urging Christians to live a life of purpose and meaning. He encouraged the Ghanaians and the world at large to prioritize their relationship with God, to seek His guidance and protection, and to live in accordance with His will.
The All Saints Day celebration, which is an important occasion in the Catholic calendar, brought together Christians from far and wide to honor the saints and the deceased.
The event was marked with solemnity and joy, featuring prayers, hymns, and homilies.
