 Local Government Committee reviews 2024 audit reports of MMDAs in Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions

 The Committee on Local Government and Rural Development today continued with its public hearing to consider the 2024 Audit findings on the annual financial statements of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the middle sector, covering Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions.

 In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of the Committee, Hon. Maame Pokuah Sawyer, explained that the Committee’s work is to ensure accountability in the allocation of funds to the various MMDAs.

 She emphasized that the Committee serves as a checkpoint to monitor and ensure that public funds are used for their intended purposes.

 The Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions made their appearances before the Committee.

Also in attendance were the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, and the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardner.
