Senior Pastor Mark Benyin Denies Knowledge of Criminal Case After Being Declared Wanted

Bremen- Accra.Senior Pastor Mark Benyin has broken his silence after reports that the Asofan District Court has authorized police to publish his identity as a wanted person.

In a press release dated 8th August, 2026 and signed from his base in Bremen, Germany, the clergyman said his attention has been drawn to publications in the media indicating that an order was given on 6th July, 2026 for the public to provide information leading to his arrest.

The publication, according to him, lists him as an accused person in the case titled The Republic Versus Mark Benyin, Suit Number – GR/ASF/DC/B7/93/26.

Pastor Benyin, however, says he is unaware of any pending criminal proceedings against him in Ghana.

“Whilst the publication seeks to suggest that I have absconded, notwithstanding having knowledge of a pending criminal matter against me, I wish to state categorically that I am not aware of any pending criminal court proceedings against me within the jurisdiction.

In fact, I have never been served any charge sheet nor a summons to appear before any court,” the statement said.

The Senior Pastor described himself as a law-abiding citizen and an upright servant of God, stressing that he is not associated with any crime alleged.

He further claimed the allegation is designed to generate hatred, ridicule and public odium and to tarnish his hard-earned reputation both in Ghana and abroad.

Pastor Benyin has appealed to friends, family and all individuals concerned by the publication to remain calm, adding that he has engaged his legal team to bring finality to the matter.

“In the meantime, I ask my friends, family and all individuals concerned and enraged by these publications citing the order to remain calm.

I have engaged my legal team to chart a trajectory to bring finality to the matter arising,” he stated.

As of the time of filing this report, the Ghana Police Service and the Asofan District Court have not publicly commented on the said warrant, and the specific offence for which Pastor Benyin is wanted has not been officially detailed in the publications cited.

Pastor Mark Benyin is a Ghanaian clergyman based at Alter Dorfweg Bremen, Deutschland, where he heads his ministry.

Efforts to reach his legal representatives for further clarification are ongoing.
