Police Raid Suspected Brothel at Manso Watreso, One Arrested
The Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti South Region has arrested a suspected brothel operator following a targeted raid at Manso Watreso.
According to a press release issued by the Ashanti South Regional Command, officers from Manso Nkwanta Police carried out the operation on April 19, 2026, after receiving intelligence about illegal activities at the facility.
The suspect, identified as Esther Egbuhama, a 28-year-old Nigerian, is alleged to be the owner of the facility known as “Mama Nice Lodge.” She was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Police indicated that although the main suspect was apprehended, other individuals believed to be involved managed to escape during the operation.
The Regional Command emphasized that operating a brothel is a criminal offence under Ghanaian law and assured the public that similar operations will continue to clamp down on such activities across the region.
The suspect has since been transferred to Manso Nkwanta for further investigation and possible prosecution.
