Network Outage Frustrates Abofour Businesses as MTN Service Remains Unstable for 7 Months

Abofour, Ashanti Region– Residents and traders in Abofour are calling on MTN Ghana to urgently fix what they describe as “chronic” network instability that has plagued the town for the past 7 months.

In a statement released by Abofoman Youth for Development, the group says the network drops completely for entire days at a time, disrupting daily life and crippling commerce in one of Ghana’s busiest market towns.

“Abofour hosts one of the largest markets in Ghana in terms of population and patronage. When the network goes down, businesses and communication suffer directly,” the statement read.

The youth group says mobile communication has become “part and parcel” of life, and the frequent disruptions now feel “like a disease” to the community. They are urging MTN Ghana to act as the “panacea” and resolve the issue before customers are forced to switch providers.

“We look forward to your urgent intervention,” the group appealed, signing off as residents of Abofour.

MTN Ghana is yet to officially respond to the concerns raised.
