Kokoteasua Chief Warns Against Sabotage of Community Development Projects After Alleged Ritual Act at Borehole Site.
The Odikro of Kokoteasua in the Obuasi West Municipality, Nana Appiah Darkwah II, has issued a strong warning to individuals allegedly sabotaging development projects in the community following what he described as a disturbing incident at a newly constructed mechanized borehole site.
According to the chief, unknown persons allegedly surrounded the yet-to-be-commissioned mechanized borehole with animal blood in what he believes was an attempt to spiritually sabotage the project.
Speaking on the matter, Nana Appiah Darkwah II said he was informed about the incident and immediately visited the site to confirm the claims.
“I was called and informed that some people had surrounded the mechanized borehole with animal blood. When I went there, it was true,” he stated.
The chief explained that the mechanized borehole was personally funded from his own resources to help address water challenges in the community and improve the wellbeing of residents.
He expressed disappointment that some individuals would allegedly attempt to undermine a project intended to benefit everyone in Kokoteasua.
He further disclosed that after witnessing the situation, he invited his linguist and secretary to the site, where libation was poured to spiritually counter what he described as evil intentions behind the act.
Nana Appiah Darkwah II warned that anyone seeking to frustrate development in the community would face consequences, adding that traditional measures had been invoked to protect the project and the future of Kokoteasua.
“This project is for the benefit of the whole community. Nobody should sabotage it. We poured libation to overturn any bad intentions, and the gods will deal with whoever is behind this so Kokoteasua can see development,” he said.
The mechanized borehole project, which is yet to be commissioned, is expected to provide residents with improved access to clean water.
Kokoteasua is a community in the Obuasi West Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
